Topic: Legal Aid Eviction Defense Basics for MN Paralegals

Join us for a 90 minute training session that offers the information needed to advise low-income tenants on their legal rights and options in eviction cases at Housing Court. This training covers the basics of residential landlord/tenant law, tenants' rights and defenses in eviction actions, and best practices advising tenants in Housing Court. You do not need to be a legal paraprofessional to participate in the training.

Speaker: Heather Mendiola

Heather Mendiola is a housing attorney at Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services. Heather has over a decade of experience representing low-income tenants in a wide range of housing matters in a variety of forums, including Housing Court, Minnesota District Court and Court of Appeals, federal court, and subsidized housing administrative hearings.
