Join us for a discussion about what you need to know about new laws, forms and processes for guardians and conservators and changes that have taken place.

Speaker: Alicia Norby, Attorney, Thorwaldsen & Malmstrom, P.L.L.P

Alicia is an attorney with the law firm of Thorwaldsen & Malmstrom in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. She grew up in Windom, Minnesota, obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth and her Juris Doctorate degree from William Mitchell College of Law. Before joining Thorwaldsen & Malmstrom, Alicia worked in private practice with law firms in St. Paul and Park Rapids. She is licensed to practice in Minnesota and also admitted to the White Earth Tribal Court.

Her professional experience includes representation of parents and grandparents in family law matters, divorce, child protection/termination of parental-rights, guardianship/conservatorship matters, special education law, stepparent adoptions, general civil litigation, and Department of Human Services administrative appeals for maltreatment determinations and licensure issues. She also is a Parenting Consultant, Parenting Time Expeditor, Mediator, and Custody Evaluator. In her spare time, Alicia keeps busy raising her son and is the head coach for the Volleyball program at Park Rapids High School.
