Karin Ciano OLPR, Senior Assistant Director

Before joining OLPR in February 2021, Karin Ciano volunteered as an investigator for the Fourth District Ethics Committee.  Karin practiced law for nearly 25 years as a solo and small-firm lawyer, a big-firm associate, and a federal career clerk.  She serves on the board of LegalWise, a nonprofit solo-practice incubator affiliated with Mitchell Hamline School of Law.  She is also a member of the Saint Paul Rotary Club.  When not thinking about legal ethics Karin enjoys biking, gardening, and raising butterflies.

Patricia La Rue, Paralegal

Patricia La Rue is a 1984 graduate from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. (Go Falcons!)  While continuing her paralegal studies at Inver Hills Community College, she interned with the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, and simultaneously, began working at the law firm of Rodli, Beskar and Boles, also in River Falls.  In private personal injury practice Patricia worked with Senior Partner, Keith Rodli, doing medical malpractice, product liability and insurance bad faith litigation.  When attorney Rodli announced his pending retirement, and in the year 2000, Patricia found her forever job at the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibilities.  Favorite projects include organizing, analyzing and coordinating large unyielding files.  Currently the most senior paralegal and oldest employee (age wise) in the Office; five wonderful children call me Grandma; Chairman of the River Falls Park and Recreation Board and Commissioner of the River Falls Plan Commission.  Retirement???  No time soon.
