Topic: Supporting Survivors of Domestic Violence with Safe Haven

Safe Haven Shelter and Resource Center is the largest domestic violence shelter north of the Twin Cities and located in Duluth, MN. Every year their shelter sees over 500 survivors and their families and the Resource Center sees over 1,200 survivors. Safe Haven's services range from shelter, legal advocacy and community outreach. Topics to be discussed include Safe Haven's services, what domestic violence is and how to best support survivors in your role. If there is anything you hope to be covered or questions that you hope this presentation may answer, feel free to submit them at this form ahead of time: https://forms.gle/iaeRdrkk9bz7mg8V7

Speaker: Jaci Christiansen

Jaci Christiansen is the Community Engagement Coordinator at Safe Haven. In her role she works with community members and volunteers to support survivors of domestic violence. Her passion is providing education on how to support survivors and inspiring change to prevent domestic violence. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Women Studies from Winona State University.
