Topic:  Incorporating Diversity and Inclusion into Employee Benefits

Following an introduction and refresher of Employee Benefits and ERISA, this presentation will focus on diversity and inclusion opportunities within the Employee Benefits space, with the goal of helping attendees understand ways to assist their attorneys or companies as it relates to the implementation of diversity and inclusion goals within the employee benefits area.

This program will also seek to educate attendees regarding the elimination of bias or prejudice in the legal profession, in the practice of law, and/or in the administration of justice by educating benefits attorneys on how benefits programs with respect to which they provide legal advice may not meet the needs of diverse employees or beneficiaries and identify some innovative features or benefits that may help to address this.

Mark Rosenfeld | Associate at Faegre Drinker

An employee benefits lawyer, Mark Rosenfeld counsels employers, plan sponsors and administrators on the design, administration and governance of retirement plans (such as 401(k) plans) and welfare plans (such as health plans). He also drafts executive compensation arrangements, equity incentive plans and severance plans. Mark serves on the Minnesota State Bar Association Employee Benefits Section.#@#_WA_-_CURSOR_-_POINT_#@#

Kathi Wright | Area VP, Compliance Counsel at Gallagher

Kathi J. Wright is an Area Vice President for the Gallagher Great Lakes Region compliance team, she provides legal support regarding Health and Welfare Benefits to their consultants, teams and clients. In addition to legal practice, Kathi has substantial experience teambuilding, and developing and promoting diversity, equity and inclusion programs, initiatives and training opportunities and is a frequent speaker to employer and professional groups on Employee Benefits and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion topics.
