Topic:  Prosecution of Strangulation Cases and Forensic Exams, Redacting Medical Reports, and Pleadings in Domestic Assault Cases

Arianna Whitney, Associate Olmsted County Attorney, will discuss how a forensic exam by a trained medical professional can uncover evidence investigators or a lay person may not see. Domestic assault cases are one of the more unique types of cases to prosecute, they often require redactions in police and medical reports, and additional pleadings that other cases do not require.

Speaker: Arianna Whitney

Arianna graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a major in Political Science and Sociology and from the University of St. Thomas School of law in 2017. She is an Associate Olmsted County Attorney where she prosecutes adult crimes. She has been with the Olmsted County Attorney’s office since she was a 1L as a Student Attorney and was hired as an Assistant County Attorney after she graduated from law school. At the County Attorney’s Office, she prosecutes person crimes, from assaults to murders and solely handles human trafficking cases. In her free time, she coaches the Century Mock Trial Teams.
