Topic: Intellectual Property with an Emphasis on Patents

Brian Mayer will provide a broad overview on intellectual property, identifying four ways to protect ideas, aka intellectual property. Brian will then focus on patents, discussing reasons for seeking a patent, what can or cannot be patented, and the patent process.

Speaker: Brian Mayer

Brian Mayer is responsible for intellectual property legal issues within Taylor Corporation's legal department and works with Taylor companies on matters requiring intellectual property expertise, such as patent issues, licensing, trademarks and copyrights. Brian received his law degree from Marquette University and is licensed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Brian practiced with the Twin Cities law firm Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi before joining Taylor Corporation in July, 2010.
