Topic: Remedies for Copyright and Trademark Infringement

Mr. Murphy will provide an in-depth review of the equitable and legal remedies available to litigants under the Copyright and Lanham Acts.

Speaker: Matt Murphy

Matt Murphy is an experienced litigator at Nilan Johnson Lewis PA. His practice includes copyright, trademark, and advertising litigation. He routinely handles breach of contract cases - including non-compete cases - and defends companies against allegations of consumer fraud. Matt also works with clients to ensure their marketing materials and advertising campaigns could not be construed as misleading or deceptive, and, in particular, that their environmental marketing claims are FTC Green Guide compliant.

Matt’s practice also includes a variety of products liability and personal injury defense. He represents many of the local and regional ski areas against personal injury claims; a Class I railroad in personal injury and catastrophic loss cases; and several manufacturers of consumer and industrial products against design defect, manufacturing defect, and failure to warn claims.

When Matt is not working, he can be found at home with his wife and two young children. He enjoys canoe and camping trips, long-distance running, reading, and watching historical-action series.

CLE Credit is being applied for this session.
