Join us for an overview of the election to claim the Minnesota Qualified Small Business and Farm Property Deduction. Learn top tips and common mistakes about electing the deduction from a Revenue tax specialist. Topics will include the recapture tax and filing informational returns.

Speakers:  Allyson Casseday, External Training and Communication Specialist for the Corporate Franchise Tax Division and Marthalyn Doe, Revenue Tax Specialist

Allyson Casseday is the External Training and Communication Specialist for the Corporate Franchise Tax Division. She provides external training and outreach to business owners and tax professionals. Allyson has worked for the department for over seventeen years and was previously a trainer in the Collection and Corporate Tax divisions focusing on employee training. Allyson graduated from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.

Marthalyn Doe is a Revenue Tax Specialist and has been with the Minnesota Department of Revenue for 4 years. She has been in the estate and fiduciary unit for the past 3½ years. She reviews and audits estate tax returns, trains new auditors and educates internal and external clients. Prior to her employment with the Minnesota Department of Revenue, Marthalyn worked in mortgage compliance at Wells Fargo for 4½ years. Marthalyn is a graduate of Concordia University, St. Paul. She received her BBA in accounting in 2010.
