Topic: Ethical Issues Affecting Paralegals
This session will cover ethical standards and procedures that paralegals regularly face. We will use hypothetical and real world examples to address the ethical challenges that are encountered daily in the legal environment. Topics covered will include ethical regulations, confidentiality, conflicts of interest, and unauthorized practice of law.
Speaker: Michael C. Flom
Michael C. Flom is a principal with the Minneapolis law firm of Gray Plant Mooty, where he practices in the areas of business litigation, legal ethics and professional responsibility. In addition to representing clients in these areas, Mr. Flom serves as Gray Plant Mooty’s general counsel. He is extensively involved in legal ethics and lawyers’ professional responsibility, and is a frequent lecturer on these topics. He earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota; and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.
