 Speaker: Bob Karau, Manager of Client Financial Services, Robins Kaplan LLP

Bob is currently Manager of Client Financial Services for Robins Kaplan LLP, a large national law firm. He has worked in the credit and financial services profession for over 35 years and has worked in the legal industry for the last 15 years. He has been a credit manager for the Valspar Corporation, Principal Resources and ITT Finance. In addition, Bob has done extensive consulting on Sarbanes Oxley, corporate governance and compliance issues for Grant Thornton LLP and 3M Corporation. Bob has served on advisory teams for large national legal industry vendors that specialize in the legal industry.

Bob believes in giving back to those in his profession and spends time meeting with, and mentoring, displaced credit and finance executives. Bob has had numerous articles published in credit and finance publications, including having excerpts from an interview on Artificial Intelligence published in the March, 2019 issue of Business Credit Magazine. In 2016, he was asked to write an introduction which was published as the first chapter in a new book titled: The MentorShip. Bob has presented eight national webinars through the National Association of Credit Management (NACM). Bob has combined his love of music with his business passion and has presented large-scale, mixed media presentations on finance and leadership for several national conferences. Bob was previously a featured speaker at the ALA (Association of Legal Administrators) Annual Conference in Los Angeles. He also presented at both regional ALA conferences in 2017.

In 2017, Bob was awarded with his profession’s national “Distinguished Member Achievement Award.” Bob is a recipient of the Forius/NACM Credit Executive of the Year Award and the Valspar “Presidents Forum Award.” Bob has served as an Area Director and board member for NACM’s Credit and Financial Developmental Division (CFDD) and is a past president of his local CFDD chapter. He is currently member of the NACM National Law Forum Credit Group and also served 9 years as a Director on his local NACM affiliate board.

In 2016, Bob presented “Reimagining Your Department, Your Job and Your Career.” Since that time, Bob has been asked to make similar presentations on the subject to 4 conferences and has also presented a national webinar on the topic. Bob is a life-long futurist/innovator whose favorite mantra is “Innovate or Evaporate!” Bob mixes real life stories and humor with analytic data and best practices to make his fast-paced presentations exciting, beneficial and truly memorable.
