Topic: When Time is of the Essence - Family Law Issues Where Paralegal Assistance is Critical
This educational session will focus on issues in family law where time is of the essence. Attorney Alyssa Nelson will share insight as to how paralegals can provide critical assistance to attorneys.
She will discuss Orders for Protection, Motions, Subpoenas and more – topics that pertain not only to family law but to other areas of litigation as well.
Attorney Nelson will also provide tips on obtaining medical records, the importance of confidentiality, and e-filing records with the court.
Speaker: Attorney Alyssa T. Nelson
Alyssa Thibert Nelson represents clients in a wide variety of litigation-related matters including employment, family law,insurance, personal injury, criminal, landlord-tenant, real estate and transaction disputes. Alyssa has also completed the requisite training to be listed as a qualified neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice. Her superior interpersonal skills and determined personality put clients at ease and helps them navigate through an array of complex legal matters.
Before moving back home to Minnesota, Alyssa worked at the Wisconsin State Senate where she helped individuals with timesensitive employment, family and housing issues. She has spent time prosecuting juvenile crimes for Hennepin County as a student certified attorney and volunteered approximately 200 hours of her time providing legal assistance through the Minnesota Justice Foundation.
