Webinar: What is NFPA?

Join Maren Schroeder, RP®, MnCP, MPA’s NFPA Primary and Director of Positions & Issues, and Yvonne DeAntoneo, NFPA Vice President and Director of Membership, for a one-hour informational webinar about NFPA, your member benefits, how to get involved, and the roles and responsibilities of MPA’s delegates to NFPA. MPA Director of Positions & Issues and NFPA Primary:

Maren Schroeder, RP®, MnCP - (Stewartville, MN)

The Director of Positions & Issues and NFPA Primary is responsible for maintaining and engaging MPA’s relationship with NFPA and engaging MPA in issues faced by the paralegal profession.

Maren Schroeder, RP®, MnCP, is a paralegal and Qualified Rule 114 Neutral for Borgos Law, PLLC, a virtual firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota that focuses on providing affordable legal services in the areas of family law, criminal defense, debtor relief, and medical cannabis patient civil protections. She also has extensive experience in bankruptcy, working on complex filings and litigation for panel trustees, debtors, and creditors.

She has a B.S. in Paralegal Studies and an M.B.A. in Legal Administration.  Maren is a PACE Registered Paralegal and a Minnesota Certified Paralegal. She serves as the Association Management Co-Coordinator for the NFPA and the Director of Positions and Issues and NFPA Primary for the Minnesota Paralegal Association. As the chair of MPA’s Regulation Committee, she worked in 2014 to develop the Minnesota Certified Paralegal program. A member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, she was appointed to the MSBA’s Task Force on Alternative Legal Services Models in December 2015 which concluded its work in 2017. Also, active in the community, Maren is chairperson of her city’s Planning & Zoning Commission, a volunteer crisis advocate for victims of sexual assault, a volunteer family and school mediator, and Co-Founder & President of Sensible Minnesota.

NFPA Vice President & Director of Membership:

Yvonne DeAntoneo - (St. Petersburg, FL)

The Vice President and Director of Membership will be responsible for guiding NFPA in attracting and retaining members.

Yvonne Lewis DeAntoneo is a litigation paralegal with Nationwide Insurance in their Tampa Bay Trial Division and has over 20 years of paralegal experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, mass torts and commercial litigation.

Yvonne has served two terms as the President of the Tampa Bay Paralegal Association, Inc.  An active member with TBPA since its inception, Yvonne has also served in various other roles and committee positions with TBPA, including 1st Vice President, Pro Bono/Community Service Committee; 10th Anniversary Celebration Chair; Bar Liaison/Public Relations; Education/Professional Development/Student Mentoring; Membership; Newsletter; Parliamentarian; Seminar/CLE; and State & National Affairs.

Yvonne has an Associate Degree In Paralegal Studies from St. Petersburg College and a Bachelor’s of Arts in English & American Literature from the University of South Florida.
