The New ALTA Commitment Form and Case Law on Title Commitments

In 2016, the ALTA adopted a new title commitment form in which they reordered and expanded many of the terms that were contained in the 2006 form. This sectional is a review of important provisions of the title commitment form that were added or modified in 2016.

Fran Iverson serves as Vice President and Manager for Chicago Title’s Minneapolis National Commercial Services (NCS) operation.  Fran joined Chicago Title in 1999 as an underwriter after working for a multi-state agent for six years. From 2004 she served as State Counsel for Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota. She received a Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota.  She is a licensed attorney in the State of Minnesota and is a member of the Minnesota and Wisconsin State Bar associations, the Minnesota Land Title Association Legislative Committee, and the Association of Corporate Counsel.  She conducts MLTA and continuing legal education training.
