This presentation will focus on Medicare ”conditional payments,” clarification, waiver, appeal and satisfaction of Medicare conditional payments, and options for handling future medical expenses that are or may be covered by Medicare or Medicaid.  We will also discuss options for dealing with possible future interests including special needs trusts, beneficiary administered Medicare “set asides,” annuities, third party administered “set asides,”  and documentation needed to establish that no “set aside” is necessary. 

SPEAKER John E. Hennen, Of Counsel, Provo-Petersen & Associates

John E. Hennen is currently working as an Of Counsel Attorney with Provo –Petersen & Associates P.A. where the majority of his practice involves representation of defendants in civil litigation.  Jack worked 31 years in house with the League of Minnesota Cities defending Minnesota cities in personal injury and property damage litigation.  Jack is an adjunct professor at Mitchell-Hamline College of law and is a frequent CLE presenter for Minnesota CLE and the Minnesota Defense Lawyer’s Association (MDLA) where he is also co-chair of the MDLA/MPA Defense Paralegal Seminar. Jack received his JD from Syracuse University College of law in 1983.
