Regulation

Regulation is a hot-button issue for many paralegals today.  This page is dedicated to that issue.  Some of the questions that will be explored on this page are these: What is happening nationally and in Minnesota with regard to regulation?  How will regulation affect our profession?  How will regulation affect my career as a paralegal?  Will I be required to acquire more education?  Will I need to be tested, or will I be "grandfathered" in?

  • Here are two links regarding state paralegal registration.  Click here to read the Florida Supreme Court Order establishing the Florida Registered Paralegal Program, and click here to read a response from the NFPA to the Supreme Court Order.
  • Also, check out the information from the recent 2007 NFPA Regulation Conference.  To access that information, click here (this is a Members Only page - you will be asked for your username and password) and enter the NFPA Members Only page.  Along the right-hand side, you will see a link called "2007 Regulation Conference."  Here you will find a lot of information about regulation that was compiled for the conference.
  • Another source of information is the article our Co-PACE Ambassador, Doris Wente, prepared on that topic.  Click here to read that article.
